Thank you , anything else besides reading those links? I will need to add forms and dynamic buttons etc to make it readable for the user. Would mind helping check my code when its ready?
Yeah no probs if you let me have the code once its finshed ill be happy to have a look at it. Most of that stuff is covered in the above link but any specific questions you might have just give us a shout!
Great thank you, what would you say is the learning curve for abap hr till one can become autonomous with the langauge as well as be considered for employment , 6 months? or 2 years.
If you are coding ABAP on a day to day basis you should pick up the basic code syntax resonably quickly, say a few months. Then the rest of the time will be spent continuously fine tuning your ABAP coding as well as learning about different database tables, existing SAP function modules and functionality, how to change or enhancing sap code, debugging.. then you have all the new technologies such as web application development using BSP's and Web dynpros etc etc. There are also many more areas to SAP/ABAP development but from a sound ABAP and basic SAP knowledge all this can be learned reasonably quickly as and when it is required or as you gain more experience. Not sure if it is still the case but SAP do a 5 week certification course which covered all the basic ABAP development techiques and people used to be able to do that and then get jobs as abap developers!
Thanks sounds like the sap market can only get better, I will get back to you soon with my progress , thank you for all your help. And my lifetime of requests for help.
Download and install mini sap, it's free and you can pratice the basics. It's no subsitiute to learning about sap though, but it will help you with the abap.
